NUMERICAL REASONING

The Numerical Reasoning Test was created with the aim of evaluating participants' Numerical Ability. It assesses the individual's reasoning process, examining their comprehension of numerical information and the application of simple mathematical operations. The participant is required to determine the appropriate method to answer each question, and then perform simple mathematical operations. The numerical reasoning ability rate generated, results from the comparison of the participant's performance to that of the general population that shares the same basic characteristics with the participant (gender, age, etc.).

The test includes some simple questions that evaluate your ability to quickly understand and interpret numerical information and draw accurate conclusions based on numerical data. It involves numerical sequences which, as a user, you will have to interpret and then apply the appropriate reasoning process in order to successfully answer each question. Essentially, you will need to figure out the most appropriate method to answer each question and then perform simple mathematical operations. The numerical reasoning ability rate that this specific test will generate, results from the comparison of your performance to that of the general population that shares the same basic characteristics as you (gender, age, etc.).

Responsible for the development of the questionnaire is Dr Ioannis Tsaousis, Assistant Professor in Psychometrics in the Department of Psychology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He graduated from Department of Psychology, University of Crete, completed the specialization diploma (M.Sc.) at the University of Reading in research methodology and statistics in Psychology and, as IKY Fellow, received his Ph.D. from the University of London - Goldsmith’s College, in Psychometry.
